E-business Programme: Success Stories
Fareeha Saleem, Tots and Tweenies
Fareeha Saleem is the founder of childcare provider, Tots and Tweenies, which is located in Seven Kings in Redbridge - offering After School and Holiday Clubs for children aged 3-11 years - which include a range of activities including yoga classes, fitness sessions and homework support.
Fareeha has a holistic approach to childcare, “My goal is for Tots and Tweenies to provide something for everyone - to make parents happy and confident that their child is in good hands, and to make the children happy and relaxed so they have the ideal environment to progress and grow. We include mindfulness, yoga, and zumba sessions as part of the routine and also offer personal growth sessions- helping children with confidence, self awareness and communication.”
Tots and Tweenies had only just got started when covid struck in 2020. As for many businesses, the impact of the pandemic was huge – but Fareeha remained optimistic and started looking for ways to build the business up again, Enterprise Enfield’s E-business Programme promised to provide the support she needed.
“I registered for the programme and booked my first advice session with my allocated Business Adviser, Geoff Folkes. He helped me immensely with financial forecasts, shared tips and advice on making my business viable, expanding and reaching out with marketing to gain more clients. For me it’s about the finances and marketing strategy – to make the pound stretch as much as I can.”
Fareeha also sought expert advice from the programme’s Digital Adviser, Vernette John-Joiles, on her digital marketing strategy. “She showed me how to make better use of social media and post more reviews on Google Business - this has proved much more effective than I could have imagined. We now have over 20 fabulous reviews from customers, which has prompted more enquires and some people have actually booked their children in with us directly, without even seeing the premises! They leave more positive feedback and say they will send their children again for any activities or sessions we plan in future.”
Since Fareeha started receiving support the business has seen a marked increase in turnover – she has introduced new services and is planning to expand her setup to other parts of London.
“The best thing about the support was it cleared my vision for my business and I was able to implement it. I started it as After School and Holiday club and now I am offering tutoring and upcoming projects include sessions for SEN children and interactive sessions for toddlers (3 to 5 years old). The advice has really helped to make the business viable and grow.”
