I am the founder of Abundant Living With Autism (ALWA) Play Scheme - a holiday club for children aged 5 to 15 yrs with Autism. Prior to establishing my organisation, - I was having great difficulty finding an inclusive holiday club that met the needs of both my children who have Autism. I wanted a play scheme where my children and other children with Autism would feel included and adequately supported - and that is the reason why I set up ALWA.
I undertook relevant training and development - including teaching assistant and childcare qualifications so I could set up ALWA - creating a space where children can learn and play in an inclusive environment supported by specialist staff. ALWA runs during every half term and school holiday and provides fun filled days with a variety of activities such as Bouncy Castles, Soft Play, Sensory/Outdoor Play, Trampolining, ride-on cars, cooking and more. ALWA was approved by Ofsted in February 2021.
