Silvana SS Boutique offers fashion for every occasion – from casual pieces to custom-made couture for special events. The boutique is run by designer and fashion lecturer, Silvana Xhameta who has worked in the design and manufacturing industry for over 10 years and takes her creative inspiration from a broad range of sources including the Surrealist movement, art, and architecture. As of October 2023, the boutique has settled into its new premises in Southgate and is ready to provide the community with unique, ethically made garments and a personal alteration service for those looking to revive their current pieces.

 

Silvana approached Enterprise Enfield in August 2022 following a difficult period after her original high street boutique premises in N21 closed. She registered for the organisation's E-business Programme to receive advice and support with getting a new shop up and running as well to enhance her online marketing.

 

Through the programme, her allocated Business Adviser Liz Gjoni provided dedicated support and guidance to help Silvana create a new, practical business plan: "I am more of a creative person than a strategist, so I really appreciated Liz’s help with putting together a business plan. I feel much more prepared for future challenges now."

 

As part of the programme, Silvana also received 121 support from the programme's Digital Expert, Vernette John-Joiles, who advised her on how to develop her brand using digital marketing: "With Vernette’s help I feel I’ve become a lot more tech savvy. It’s now much easier for me to organise media across different social media platforms, and on my website."

 

Looking forward, Silvana intends to focus on increasing the visibility of her boutique and recognition of her brand. She hopes with a larger customer base, she can generate more jobs and provide opportunities for young designers coming up in the industry. As well as being a fashion lecturer, Silvana also runs sewing classes, helps other designers with sampling and pattern cutting, and continues to offer work experience opportunities to students from Edmonton County School in Enfield.

 

Reflecting on her experience with the E-Business Programme, Silvana says, "Since joining the programme, I feel much more confident and secure in my business. My Advisers were with me every step of the way and I’ve become a stronger person as a result."
