Marta Ferreira, Cubit Design & Building
Marta Ferreira is the Director of Enfield based Cubit Design and Building which was registered as a Limited company in 2017. The business offers a range of services and expertise in the construction, building and energy sectors – including extensions, gas installation and commercial refurbishments. It is committed to quality services, which is evidenced by its membership of the Federation of Master Builders and being Trustmark registered.
In 2022 Marta enrolled on the E-business Programme to get advice and support on incorporating more digital systems into her business operations. She said:
“The combination of 121 support from our Business Adviser and Digital Expert, as well as webinars have enabled us to learn how to use digital technology effectively. The support has been instrumental in filling in the gaps and helping the business to operate in a more streamlined way - becoming more efficient and effective.”
The business made many positive changes including moving from a home office into a new unit based in Enfield Enterprise Centre, Ponders End, managed by Enterprise Enfield. Marta explains:
“We are now in the process of producing a marketing plan and have a clear structure for the person who undertakes our social media activity. The new office has enabled us to increase the number of tenders we submit and to maintain our quality management systems. The next stage will be to implement a new CRM system that can link digitally to our other systems.”
Marta's Business Adviser. Liz Gjoni, explains that, "Despite the economic downturn and uncertainty for the construction industry, the Federation of Master Builders have stated that the renewables sector would see growth during this challenging time. As Cubit Design and Building is now a provider of renewable heat sources, such as heat pumps, this is good news for the business." The support provided under the Programme has included exploring additional industry accreditations to open up new tendering opportunities for renewable contracts as well as exploring additional funding through loan schemes such as the Productive Valley Fund.
Cubit Design and Building expects to see a steady growth in business over the next 12 months as a result of the changes which have implemented - with a predicted increase in sales turnover and plans to secure high value tenders.
