The Inspiring Women Programme is a FREE scheme offering an incredible personalised package of support to empower women in London with the skills needed to establish, sustain and grow their businesses successfully.  The programme, which is managed by Enterprise Enfield and part funded by the European Regional Development Fund, had its launch event at Alexandra Palace on Wednesday 19th April.  The event included inspiring women speakers, a Masterclass open discussion / question and answer session with business experts and women running successful businesses.

Deputy Mayor of London, Joanne McCartney, who is also the GLA Member for Enfield and Haringey, was the keynote speaker at the event along with Enterprise Enfield CEO, Des Johnson; and award winning businesswoman, Gladys Anoquah of Natgab Services - who  spoke about her own business journey. The event was attended by 100 delegates including Inspiring Women programme participants, award-winning businesswomen and representatives from business support organisations and local authorities.

The Inspiring Women Programme is open to women who are interested in starting their own enterprises as well as those running established early stage businesses.* The project will support around 270 women over 3 years - enabling the creation of sustainable business start-ups and ensuring that women-owned early stage businesses are developed and sustained, leading to growth in jobs and the economy.

Under the scheme, women looking to start a business can apply to join a 3-month or 6-month Inspiring Women Start Up Course comprising of bespoke expert advice, mentoring and seminars.  The intensive course will help them get to grips with all the fundamental aspects of running a business including: business planning, raising finance, bookkeeping and marketing and will help enhance key skills such as presentation, sales and time management.  Following course completion, participants will have 6 months’ free access to the Let’s Go Business Hub at Enfield Business Centre benefitting from a mailing address, online directory listing, discounted meeting room hire and regular networking.  Des Johnson, Enterprise Enfield CEO says:

"Enterprise Enfield has been delivering successful business support programmes specifically to help local women start their own businesses, for the past 8 years.  Additional European Union funding secured last year, has allowed us to widen the scope of our support to women all over London helping them to unlock their potential and convert their ideas into viable, sustainable businesses.  It has also enabled us to offer bespoke advice and support to assist women running early stage businesses to develop and grow successfully. "

Women who wish to apply for the Inspiring Women Start up courses must wish to start a business in London and have attended a free one day Start Right in Business for Women Seminar  - which will be held at various north London venues between June and July 2017. The next 3-month course starts in September 2017.

Women who are looking for advice and support to develop and grow their early stage businesses (up to 42 months old) can apply to receive free support under the Inspiring Women Business Growth Service to access 12 hours of free one to one expert advice, guidance and seminars.  They will also have access to business hub services and facilities as mentioned above.
