This exclusive event was an opportunity for women in business to network with each other as well as hear from inspirational speakers who shared insights into their own business journeys, female leadership and how we can all champion women in business.  Speakers included: Despina Johnson, CEO of Enterprise Enfield; Heather Melville OBE, Director of Strategic Partnerships and Head of Business Inclusion Initiatives for RBS and a Director on Enterprise Enfield’s Board; as well as Marija Butkovic, startup mentor, blogger and CEO of Women of Wearables.

Last year, Enterprise Enfield provided business support to over 600 women offering essential information, advice and guidance on starting and growing their businesses.  Many women received essential support through one of its bespoke free programmes which include the Inspiring Women and  Female Founders Accelerator programmes.  All the participants of these schemes who are running businesses, were invited to attend this exciting event which was a fantastic opportunity for them to meet, connect, share experiences and do business with each other.

Enterprise Enfield’s Inspiring Women Programme offers a range of dedicated advice, seminars and support to help women in London succeed in business.  The Inspiring Women Start Up Course offers support to those with a business idea and provides them with all the advice and skills they need to get their business up and running. The Inspiring Women Business Growth Service is designed to maximise the growth potential and sustainability of female-led early-stage businesses in London- offering a combination of expert advice and seminars (up to 12 hours).  All the support under the Inspiring Women Programme is free as it is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund.

The Female Founders Accelerator Programme is specifically aimed at helping women in east London scale and take their business to the next level. It is also open to women from other areas of London who have completed a women’s programme at Enterprise Enfield.  The free scheme, supported by JPMorgan Chase Foundation, offers 6 months of business support including seminars, meet ups and advice sessions from a range of experts – as well as exclusive mentoring sessions with a JP Morgan Mentor. Six participants who successfully completed the programme have recently been appointed by Enterprise Enfield as Female Founders Ambassadors – they will inspire, educate and motivate more women to start, grow and succeed in business by giving talks about their business journey and success.  Applications are now open for the next Female Founders Accelerator programme starting in May 2018.

“I made a lot of progress on the Inspiring Women Business Growth Service.  My Adviser and Mentor helped me remodel my business plan and business offer for training, coaching and consultancy. I now have a viable business involving all the things I love to do.  The programme truly transforms your life if you put into practice what you are taught!“  Ruth Pearson, Listening to Your Voice
