Inspiring Women Celebrate!
On 23rd September 20 inspiring women attended a presentation lunch at the Royal Chace Hotel where they received their certificates for completing Enterprise Enfield’s RSA Trust Inspiring Women Programme. This FREE 6 month scheme, which is fully funded by local charity, The RSA Trust, supports women to achieve their dreams and goals by empowering them with the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to start and manage successful businesses in Enfield.

Attendees at the celebratory lunch spoke of the positive change in their lives over the past year.  One beneficiary of the programme, Karen Mercer, explained how the programme had given her the invaluable personal and business support she needed to start and develop her business, My Coffee Stop, which is now trading at Platform 1, Enfield Chace Station. Since the event she the business was awarded the top prize in the Innovation Category in the North and West London Business awards!

Kehinde Obidipe, another 2009 delegate, explains how the course empowered her to kick start her cake making business, Cakes by Candy, “The Inspiring Women Programme helped me a lot at a time I needed guidance and gave me a great deal of confidence to move forward. It has enabled me to realise that I can do anything I set my mind to do and that knowledge is power. My aim is to run a successful business and become a household name in the cake business by creating cakes that WOW!”

Each of the women was presented with certificates from Gary Walker, Chairman of The RSA Trust, who said:

“This is the second year The RSA Trust has funded this unique programme for women looking to start up businesses in Enfield, the results of which have exceeded our expectations. The holistic advice, support and encouragement provided by experts at Enterprise Enfield has really enabled these women to achieve their full potential and despite the recession, 17 of the 24 women have now registered their businesses.. “
