New CEO Appointed to Enterprise Enfield

Enterprise Enfield is delighted to announce the appointment of Des Johnson as its new CEO, following the retirement of outgoing CEO, Janet Collett, after 24 years service.

Des, who will take up her new position on 18th August, is currently CEO of a successful development trust, FinFuture, where she has worked for the past 4 years.  During that period she built the fledgling company into an established organisation with over 250 members, delivering a range of services for the local communities.

Des began her career in regeneration in 1998 with the North London Chamber of Commerce (NLCC), working as an Industrial Estates Liaison Officer with businesses from the Upper Lee Valley.  During this time she gained a thorough understanding of regeneration and how to build effective partnerships involving both private and public sectors.

Following her position with the NLCC, in 2003 she joined Haringey Council, working for Neighbourhood Management in the role of Tottenham High Road Strategic Manager.  Here, she learnt a great deal from the Neighbourhood Management approach to local area working, particularly with regard to influencing the delivery of local authority services on the ground.

Des is looking forward to taking up her new CEO position in August:-

“I am thrilled at my new appointment with Enterprise Enfield, and keen to build on the achievements of this successful organisation - exploring new opportunities for supporting start up and existing businesses in North London.”
